University Graduation Ceremony
Are you wondering who
will be the next Michael Jordan or Allen Iverson? Well, it may be Al
Elliott, a native of Washington, D.C. and recent graduate from Pace
University in New York City. Although Elliott has a degree in Marketing,
he’s actively pursuing a career in basketball. Some of you may remember
Elliott as a star player during his high school years at Gonzaga, a catholic
high school in Washington, D.C. Well, from there he ventured up to
Manhattan, New York to contribute his all-star talent to Pace University
Pacesetters’ basketball team.
Elliott states that he
began playing basketball as an outlet from his surroundings and to stay out
of trouble. His biggest influence is, like most young ball players,
Michael Jordan.
Elliott would like to continue playing basketball, but whether that goal is
accomplished or not, he wants to become an entrepreneur and continue being a
good father to his infant son. Elliott says that his greatest
accomplishment is graduating from college. What motivates Elliott in all of
his accomplishments is his desire to succeed and fear of failing.
On June 5th Elliott
will be leaving for Tokyo, while in Tokyo several coaches from European
basketball teams will be looking for new recruits for their teams. When
asked if he would like to be in the NBA, Elliott responded by saying, “I
would love to play in the NBA because of the money and the contribution I
could make to the team.”
