Dawayne Dikes Story
I think of myself as the next rising star Dawayne Dike says. Dawayne is a sophomore in Fairmont Heights, he's also one of the best players on junior varsity basketball.  Aiming for the pros, his jersey number is twenty-three. As a young boy about age five he admired Michael Jordan, but now he is compared to Allen Iverson. Iverson just one of many professionals to whom he likes to be compared.  In order to get to where they are, Dawayne must practice everyday and sometimes put in overtime.  According Dike, you can never get enough practice.  Reflecting back on what got him started, he says his uncle George, "a former basketball player who did not make it".  Dawayne says he wants to make it so he'll do what it takes.  Dawayne wants to take his career in basketball as far as he possibly can. If it happens that he does not make it, he says the next best thing for him is an career dealing with the game he loves such as a sports agent or a sports broadcaster.  Playing in many places including Florida, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Virginia, California.  Dawayne averages twenty-five points per game.  Dike says he gets motivated just thinking of what he's trying to achieve.  A potential sponsor he would like to have, should he be successful in his career, are companies such as Nike. Dawayne's second dream is to be a hero by helping those who are in need.  When ask who would he help, his reply "I would gladly donate some of my earnings to a charity such as one attempting to cure aids and breast cancer".   Dawayne Dike is shooting for the sky and URSCENE will be there to see him amongst the stars.
