Dec 2002 Marriage (Part 2)
Before I  get started with As is always the case with my writings, I pray that the Lord Thy Jah add a blessing to my writing and my teachings.  I pray that the words that I type and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Jah site over me. 
Last time we left off we talked about marriage.  Now lets make more since of what we already talked about.  We have learned that divorce s warranted in the case that your spouse dies, your spouts cheats, your spouse leaves you. Death: (Romans 7:1-4, 1 Corinthians 7:39).
Fornication: (Matthew 19:9, 1 Corinthians 6:16)
Desertion: (1 Corinthians 7:15)
We also have learned that according to the scriptures that if a person does leave his or her spouse and takes up with another, except for the above reasons, is an adulterer.  The scriptures also teaches us that you have not only sinned on your own but also on the part of your spouse, because you have now forced them into an adulterous life style. "And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery." Matt. 19:9  That last passage can be taken out of context to mean that a women is not to marry when she is divorced from her husband.  We know this to not be true since the previous mention scriptures relieve you of marital obligations if the three conditions above occur. To go further what Matthew 19:9 is saying is that you should not start a new relationship until you have released yourself of the marriage.  Separated or not you are still married and to fornicate with out a divorce is adultery.  So immediately you are committing to sins, fornication and adultery.  So what do I mean by releasing yourself?  This means divorcing the spouse rather than merely separating from them before starting a new relationship with someone else.  To bring them someone new in makes them an adulterer as well.  What did you think, only married people can be an adulterer?   The scripture above plainly states that anyone that partakes in the act of adultery is an adulterer. 
Ladies while the above mention scripture does mention what happens if the husband leaves his wife.  This does not let you off the hook if you should skip out on your husbands, because the same rules apply. You, as did your husband, made a promise be for the Almighty King Alpha (GOD). As I told you in one of my very earliest of writings that the bible in many cases uses figurative speech, because many of those writing the scriptures did not have the level of education that we look to in today’s scholars.  Therefore factor in that in the days that the original scriptures were written it was not thought that a woman would ever leave her husband, rather he who would discard her.  Now what all this means is that you must take those vows serious.  Do not marry out of loneliness.   Pray for GOD to provide you with the one that has been predestined for you.  Remember my editorial commentary “Take A Number” (May 2002)?  When a faithful and strong child stands before the father and ask for what he needs, our father doeth deliver.  May GOD bless you all Saints.

 This is a very largely debated subject there fore it will be divided into multiple parts.  This month starts part 1.

 It is imperative we get the Biblical perspective of Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage.  Many of us have been nurtured on the Roman Catholic idea of what marriage is, i.e.,  a marriage is a marriage ceremony and a divorce is a decree from a court.  This is not true in the Biblical sense.  We would fair better if we let the Holy Scriptures explain to us what marriage and divorce is. 

I want you to immediately see how Scripture tells us there are three grounds for divorce.  We will get into a detailed study as we go.

Death:   (Romans 7:1-4, 1 Corinthians 7:39).
Fornication: (Matthew 19:9, 1 Corinthians 6:16)
Desertion: (1 Corinthians 7:15)

Here is a thought process that has enveloped the minds of many people.  We are commonly taught that if a saved woman has a husband who has deserted her, and he goes off and marries somebody else, then that woman can never remarry until this former husband is dead. She is now supposed to remain a perpetual virgin for the rest of her life.  The same is applied to a man who has a wife who deserts him.   WRONG.  That is not what GOD teaches in His Book.

Unlike your traditional Roman Catholic teachings Marriage is not a just a ceremony. Marriage Is Flesh Joining Flesh.  We learn from the Scriptures that marriage is "primarily" a matter of flesh joining flesh. In Gen. 2:23-24 it states, "And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." 

Adam and Eve had no marriage ceremony, no wedding bells, no marriage license, and no wedding rings. Jesus even expounds that marriage is "flesh joining flesh."  Matthew 19:4-6 states: "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,  And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore GOD hath joined together, let not man put asunder."

Paul expounds also in Ephesians 5:31: "For this cause shall man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh."

To reinforce that marriage is a physical affair, Paul states in 1 Cor. 6:16:

 "What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh." 

It is clear from Scripture that marriage is flesh joining flesh, thus Paul warns:

 "Flee fornication, Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body." (1 Cor. 6:18). 

This explains what Jesus said in Matt. 19:9, 

"And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery."

Marriage is physical and it's flesh joining flesh. There may be marriage "ceremonies," but the ceremony is not the marriage.  There are plenty of men and women out there  who live a life of fornication and only had one marriage ceremony, thus he or she could pass for only having one wife or she one husband.  The truth is, he's had dozens, and she's had dozens. 

Now some people might rise to object and condemn one for teaching "common law marriage." This is not what this is about.  It is clear that the laws of the State are to be obeyed (Rom. 13:1-5).   If the person is saved, he would live honestly before men, manifesting a good conscience in the sight of all men (which other Scriptures state about this matter). 

I would like to go back and repeat Matt. 19:4-6, "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore GOD hath joined together, let not man put asunder."

That last sentence is usually heard in Protestant, as well as in Roman Catholic, marriage ceremonies.  This is where I would like to ask a question.  The question I ask those of you who are truly Followers of Christ?  If there is a saved woman up there at the altar with an unsaved man, tell me, is that GOD joining them together? Or how about two unsaved people up there at the altar?  Is that GOD joining them together?  How can an honest Christian with even the least amount of intelligence say yes?  The answer is no.  The whole verse is taken out of context. The context goes back to Adam and Eve as found in verse 4.  No way does GOD take a saved woman or man and join them to an unsaved person.  

It has long amazed me how lightly people take the marital vows they stand before GOD and proclaim.  Most wedding vows usually include words to the effect of “what GOD has join together today, let no man put asunder”.    We must remember that this is a promise before the almighty creator of heaven and earth to not let anyone in to the circle created by him.  This in and of itself should not be taken lightly.  In my opinion, one reason that this the case is most men have a misconception of the olden time vow that imply a promise to love, honor, and obey on the part of the wife, while the husband promises to love honor and cherish her.  Most believe this to mean that wife is to do as she is told by her husband without question.  Most do not know that this promise only becomes an obligation if the husband is abiding by the will of GOD.  If the husband is not abiding by GOD’s divine will his wife is under no obligation to abide by him.  It is her duty to abide by the will of the GOD in her husband.   Thus he becomes the spiritual head of the household, as eve was submissive to Adam because of his covenant with GOD.  The scriptures do state that those who abide by GOD’s will in the marriage will be blessed; those that do not shall be judged.   “Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers GOD will judge.” – Hebrews 13:4

August 2002 Enlightenment
Why Do People Expect The Truth From Satan?
As is always the case with my writings, I pray that the Lord Thy Jah add a blessing to my writing and my teachings.  I pray that the words that I type and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Jah site over me. 
A story in the news recently talked about how a member of a satanic cult murdered another member of the same cult because he did not keep his promise to do a favor.  This first of all makes you wonder about the mindset of the two individuals.  Second and more importantly, it makes you wonder about the mindset of a person who would follow and/or worship as the bible describes him “The lord of flies”.   Is not the very nature of Satan to lie, corrupt, and bring about chaos to GOD’s divine order?  How can one serve a master who promises all, but who’s very existence speaks against truth?  How can they then attack one who has delivered all things blessed as promised in his word?  What kind of person must you be to follow one who was preordained to lose, even before the dawn of time (Please see June’s divine enlightenment)?   If the nature Satan is to lie, it is highly unlikely anyone who follows him will be honorable. All the while the GOD’s divine word  set forth the order of righteousness.  2 Corinthians 8:21-“Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.” This says that we must be honest in all things we do. We can not be honest with GOD, yet lie to man. So I bring about my original statement.  If the nature of Satan and those that follow him is to be deceitful, why do so many follow him and/or them and expect to get the truth?

Are You Paying Your Tithes?
As is always the case with my writings, I pray that the Lord Thy Jah add a blessing to my writing and my teachings.  I pray that the words that I type and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Jah site over me. 

Now what I am about to say next will likely infuriate most members of the clergy.  It will probably put me on the “outs” with many who do not know GOD’s word and GOD’s law.  It will likely go against things you learned early on in life.  There are many different interpretation of this teaching.  So with out any further ado... Why is it that most churches beat you in to the ground should you not pay a full ten percent of your gross earning to them?  Most will make you feel that you are lower than the worms under the dirt if the “Commanded 10%” requirement is not met.  Factor in a couple of things at the time that the original scriptures were written.  At that time, the only demand on your income was GOD’s share, your share, and a smaller portion of the Government’s share.  In those times it was about 2-5% to the government, the required 10% to GOD and the rest was yours.  In those times like these your gains were not merely monetary.   Back then there was no social security, Medicare tax, etc. Currently 20-33% of your income is taken from you before you even make it to church on Sunday.  Some churches make it sound as if you need starve yourself or work two or three Jobs just to be able to fulfill your "GOD requirement".  Well the intent of this writing is to clarify several points.  First of all yes, you are required according scripture to pay your taxes.  In fact the bible clearly stats that even Jesus Christ the son of GOD paid taxes.  Jesus Christ paid both his tithe and civil taxes to the Roman government (Matthew 17:24-27)  “And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.  Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.”

He also commanded that we pay taxes (Luke 20:22-25), “Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar (reigning Gov’t), or no? But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me? Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's. And he said unto them, Then give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's.” So as we can see clearly that the son of GOD commanded that taxes be paid.

Now what the bible says about the tithing can be a bit confusing.  Well lets first define the word tithe. Tithe is the English word used to translate the original Hebrew word of the Old Testament, pronounced mah-as-ayr, and the original Greek word of the New Testament, pronounced dek-at-oo. All mean a tenth. Tithing is a God-commanded 10% "flat tax" which is used to support services from GOD.  Now reading what the scripture says it is not necessarily 10% of your weekly salary that must be surrendered to GOD to fulfill your requirement.  You must surrender "A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to The Lord; it is holy to The Lord." (Leviticus 27:30) This means that a tenth of you must be given unto the Lord GOD. A tithe of your time must be dedicated to the Lord.  If you do not do the work of GOD then yes at least 10% of your income is appropriate.  For those that are in or do his service it means you must provide a balance of all things GOD has blessed you with.  If GOD has blessed you with the knowledge and wisdom to do his work, a percentage of it must be utilized for his purpose.  If he has blessed you with land, a percentage must be dedicated to his purpose, if he has blessed you with a car, then a percentage of it must be dedicated to his purpose.  How do I know this well as I said before tithing is a way of paying for services of the Lord.  If you are doing his work then part of your debt is paid unto the Lord.  (Leviticus 27:30) “And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's: it is holy unto the LORD.”  Now it clearly says that if you are doing GOD's work than you are due a percentage, and from those things you receive you are to dedicate a tithe thereof (Numbers 18:26) "Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe." So if you are doing the work of the Lord this required debt is reduced slightly. It is not necessarily always instructed by GOD to pay your tithing to the church.  All are required to serve the Lord but some go further and do his purpose.  It is to those that do his purpose that the tithing is due.

Now the are many scriptures that list information on tithes.  I will list them here that you may see that it is a percentage of all things that must bare tithing, while most churches are only concerned with receiving 10% of your income.  (Genesis 14:20, Leviticus 27:30-31, Numbers 18:24-28, Deuteronomy 12:6-17, 14:22-28, 26:12,  2 Chronicles 31:5-12, Nehemiah 10:37-38, 12:44, 13:5-12, Amos 4:4, Malachi 3:8-10, Matthew 23:23, Luke 11:42, 18:12, Hebrews 7:5-9)  You will notice from these verses that the one thing that is certain is that all things must bare donation.   

·         The Lord said to Aaron, "You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites. I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the Tent of Meeting." (Numbers 18:20-21)

"The Lord said to Moses, "Speak to the Levites and say to them: 'When you receive from the Israelites the tithe I give you as your inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as The Lord's offering. Your offering will be reckoned to you as grain from the threshing floor or juice from the winepress. In this way you also will present an offering to The Lord from all the tithes you receive from the Israelites. From these tithes you must give The Lord's portion to Aaron the priest. You must present as The Lord's portion the best and holiest part of everything given to you." (Numbers 18:25-29)

(1 Corinthians 9:13-14) "Don't you know that those who work in the Temple get their food from the Temple, and those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar? In the same way, The Lord has commanded that those who preach The Gospel should receive their living from the Gospel."

"Now about the collection for God's people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made." (1 Corinthians 16:1-2)

Now GOD is not asking that you starve yourself to pay your tithes and offerings, he is merely commanded that if you are not doing his work then you are to support those that do.  I repeat this once more, All are required to serve the Lord but some go further and do his purpose.  It is to those that do his purpose that the tithing is due.  GOD knows when you are truly cheating him.  May the Lord add a blessing to my words and his work

June 2002 Enlightenment
Who Is The World's Greatest Loser?
Before I get started, as always, I pray that the Lord JAH add a blessing to the words you are about to read.

The next time you are feeling sorry for yourself and think that no one is a bigger loser than you, Remember everything that you are about to read in this months Devine Enlightenment. There is at least one being that has been in existence since before the dawn of time that has lost in battle every time he comes up against the JAH the most High.

"You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty [see last months Devine Enlightenment]. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, carnelian, topaz, and jasper, chrysolite, beryl, and onyx, sapphire, carbuncle, and emerald; and wrought in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. With an anointed guardian cherub I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you." (Ezekiel 28:12-15)

The horrendously wicked spirit-being that we now know as Satan has not always existed. He was created by God, not as the evil rebel that he is now, but as the above Scriptures describe, perfect in wisdom and beauty. Satan, or Lucifer, was, at a time long ago, perfectly righteous and obedient before God. Put another way, at one time, he could have been one of the best friends that anyone could have!

But Lucifer went bad, very bad -

"How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! [or Lucifer, which means light-bringer] How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will make myself like the Most High.' But you are brought down to Sheol, to the depths of the Pit." (Isaiah 14:12-15 RSV)

Satan didn't just refuse to obey God any longer, which was bad enough; he actually tried to overthrow God! The attempted coup failed of course, as described by Jesus Christ: "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven." (Luke 10:18 RSV). This would have occurred long before His birth in Bethlehem as a human. Satan was still on earth during the time of Jesus' ministry, and was directly involved in His betrayal by Judas Iscariot.

God created the perfectly-righteous Lucifer, by God's choice. Lucifer created the absolutely-wicked Satan, by Lucifer's choice. Lucifer, and all of the millions of angels had the power of choice - to obey, or to rebel. Most chose to obey God, while some followed Satan's rebellion and have become hopelessly corrupt.

Most people have asked the question "why did God allow choice? Well, using human marriage as an analogy, would you want to be married, forever, to someone who had absolutely no choice in the matter? Or, would you want to be married to someone who personally chose to spend their life with you?

The angels were not created like mindless machines. Biblical accounts of them show that they are individuals with powers of reason. Good angels are capable of patience, joy, compassion, curiosity, and sometimes anger. Angels have personal names e.g. Michael and Gabriel. Chances are, there is at least one with you right now.

God did not force the angels to obey Him. Was anything at risk? Not really. Even though angels are very powerful, God remained, and will always remain, absolutely supreme in power and authority over any number of them. The only thing lost when an angel rebels against Him is the angel's own glorious future - a principle of choice that applies as much to humans, as it does to angels.

What Satan Fears Most - The Return of Jesus Christ

Satan has already been defeated; he just hasn't been removed yet. The Return Of Jesus Christ will mark the end of Satan's rule and influence on earth. He will soon get all that's coming to him, and he knows it.

"But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!" (Revelation 12:12 RSV)

"Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years were ended. After that he must be loosed for a little while. Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom judgment was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony to Jesus and for the word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life, and reigned with Christ a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and they shall reign with Him a thousand years." (Revelation 20:1-6 RSV)

"And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be loosed from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations which are at the four corners of the earth, that is, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. And they marched up over the broad earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city; but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night for ever and ever." (Revelation 20:7-10 RSV)

So you see GOD already knows the fate of Satan and has laid it out. Satan knows his own fate should he not repent, but he still tries to over come the power and righteousness of GOD. Even though he has been punished by GOD and will be punished even further, he still will continue to try to win a battle that he lost long ago.

Lucifer wasn't born to be wild - he went wild, all on his own. The result of his rebellion against the love and the law of God is that he is now the greatest loser of all eternity. The second-greatest losers of all time are those who, tragically for themselves, repeat the devil's mistake.

May the Lord GOD add a blessing to these words and their delivery. Be blessed until we meet again.

May 2002 Enlightenment

What Does Satan Look Like?

Before I start, as always, I pray that the Lord JAH add a blessing to these words and teachings.

Many of us look to recognize Satan to be the evil green or red horned being that Hollywood has taught us to recognize. Do you honestly think that Eve would have been so taken by something so horrifying? Satan appears to us as the things we are attracted to, much like he appeared to Eve as a guide that played on her curiosity. Ezekiel 28:13-17 gives us a specific description of Satan, "You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, carnelian, topaz, and jasper, chrysolite, beryl, and onyx, sapphire, carbuncle, and emerald; and wrought in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. With an anointed guardian cherub I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you. In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and the guardian cherub drove you out from the midst of the stones of fire. Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground"

It would be quite natural to assume that a spirit being so grossly evil would also look evil. The popular perceptions of Satan are usually either that of a sinister-looking individual in all-black clothing, or a comic character in a red suit with horns and a pitchfork, but The Bible, as in the above Scriptures, describes Satan with "beauty" and "splendor The scriptures tell us that Lucifer was beautiful, near perfect, and was at GOD's right hand, until he tried over throw GOD's Kingdom.  Yes, we constantly hear that he was just jealous of GOD but the Bible says he tried to over throw him.  That is like someone coming into your house and trying to tell you what to do in it. Ok, someone besides your Mom. She is the exception to the rule here.

Satan appears to us as righteous: Corinthians 11:13-15 "For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." This verse makes specific mention of Satan and his followers deceptively seeking to lead the righteous, pretending themselves to be righteous. So yes you can attend a church that is not lead by the righteous, as the news has without a doubt taught us in recent years. I’ve heard it said that the greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he (didn't) doesn't exist.  Well the reason why I placed the word didn't in parenthesis is because most people hear that and think past tense. Well he still today convinces us of this.  How he does that is constantly keeping ugly images of Satan in front of us.  This way he can entice us with the beauty of Lucifer.  Those of you that know me have often heard me make mention of the Bible teaching us that there are 3 types of people in this world. Well for salvation sake, you have to be able to identify them. There are the righteous, the condemned, and the damned.  Yes you may have like most people thought that the condemned and damned were one in the same, they are not.  Pray daily for the ability to recognized the difference. Let’s take a look at them.:

· The Righteous are those that walk Christ like, Love GOD, spread GOD's word, Fear GOD, and yes some of them even do GOD's work.

· The Condemned are those that knowingly defy GOD, Curse his word, are against those that are Christ like (even trying to destroy their work), Some of them even worship Satan and\or other Devils Yes, I said Devil in the plural because we constantly refer to Satan as the Devil when in fact the Bible refers to him as a Devil.  The King James Bible in fact makes 48 different mentions of the word in the plural.

· The Damned are those who wander around in darkness thinking that it is the light.  Some are lead around by the Condemned willingly or unwillingly.  Some are influenced by the Condemned knowingly or unknowingly.  While others just don't know what to believe. Well faith is the belief things unseen.  The Damned have little to no faith whatsoever.

The Bible has scripture upon scripture on Satan's change in behavior, but nothing about any change in his appearance. He is the ultimate evil, and yet he appears attractive and righteous. The references to him as a "snake" or "serpent" refer more to his sneaking, slithering, underhanded personality rather than his actual visual appearance. Do you think Eve would have been so naïve as to be taken in by an actual snake? Satan approached her with his splendor and beauty, at her most curious moment. The moments she was alone and near the very tree she had been instructed not to eat from. He then played on her curiosity. How many times has some devil played on our curiosity? The saying goes "curiosity killed the cat." Well curiosity lead to the fall of man, according to the scriptures. Now consider this, the Jesus that we serve was a rugged and ordinary-looking Jesus Christ (read Isaiah 53:2-5). He looked nothing like the pale "pretty boy" who is so often portrayed in Christian art and Churches around the world, one of the most startling questions of recent times would have to be any one that involves just who it is that's actually portrayed in those images. Does not the very scriptures teach us that any one who will try to convince us that he is our Lord and Savior, who is not, is wicked. Is not the wicked of demons and devils? What very powerful deceiver, and, as the Bible describes him, impersonator, could have easily influenced all of those various artists, over the many centuries, to depict someone who's consistently the same in un-Christ-like appearance? Well how do I know? Read on.

What Did Jesus Look Like?

Many believe that The Shroud of Turin is the actual burial cloth of Jesus Christ, and that the man seen in the cloth's image (in photograph) is our Lord. Once again while I dispute the exact preciseness of carbon dating carbon-dating, results of tests show the shroud to be only about 600 years old.  We know that our savior walked the earth more than 2000 years ago.  Again what impersonator would try to deceive us with images of the savior? There is at least one other strong proof that The Savior is not the man in the cloth, which is idolized by millions of people.

The Bible makes no specific description of what Jesus Christ looked like, and there are no known images of Him in existence, such as there are, for example, for Roman emperors (e.g. Emperor Caesars), or actual "faces from the past" that can be seen with the Egyptian Mummies. There are however some very good indications of what He did, and did not, look like right in the scriptures. One of the most misquoted scriptures would have to be from the Book of Revelations 1:13-15. Many have misread and misinterpreted this scripture spouting that "Jesus had hair like lambs wool and feet the color of burned brass." The scripture actually reads. "And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters." Some scriptures actually use the word "burnished" brass, which is where people misinterpret. The word burnished means to make smooth or glossy by or as if by rubbing; polish. Throughout the Bible the word wool is used to describe the color white.  So what the scripture is actually saying is that his feet were a glossy bronze color, and his hair was as white as pure wool or snow.  This is how he appeared in revelations well after his resurrection. Even then this was how he appeared in spirit form, in a vision. Too often we have misused this scripture to our advantage. When he walked the face of the earth, there was nothing unusual about his appearance. We do know that the region he was born is an arid region. We also know that people indigenous to an arid region are most likely persons of color. Since we know that most of those person mentioned were also of this arid region, Jesus had to have blended in.  It is highly improbable that he could have blended in with persons of color and not be of color himself.  Nowhere in the scriptures is there any mention of pale skin, which I am almost certain there would have been if he in fact had pale skin since it would have made him differ from those around him. That is not to say he was dark skinned either, as we would love to believe. It is likely his complexion was that of the persons, which we now see from the region that houses Egypt. The Olive to Carmel complexion that we see in that region. Which yes would still make him a brother, as we would say but not as dark as we are constantly taught.

Throughout the Gospel books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, people made no mention of something different about how He looked. If anything, people wondered how such an ordinary-looking man could be The Savior. John The Baptist would not have known that his cousin was The Savior (their mothers, Mary and Elizabeth were related) if not for an angel telling him just before Jesus' baptism at age 30 (John 1:33). In the book of Matthew, The mob that came to arrest Him The Fateful Night could not tell Him apart from Peter or John or any of the others - Judas Iscariot had to actually point Him out Matthew 26:48 "Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast", and even then Jesus had to identify Himself, twice, to those who demanded Him by Name as He stood right in front of them in the bright light of their torches, John 18:4-8 "Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?. They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground. Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way".

· He had a natural, rugged appearance

The Lord did hard outside physical labor, with Joseph in Nazareth, until He was about 30 years old. Back then, the building trade involved very strenuous physical labor with heavy stone and lumber, without any sort of power tools or mechanical digging equipment that are in use today. Unlike many religious pictures that portray Jesus as a pale, skinny, effeminate (having qualities or characteristics more often associated with women than men, as seen in the pictures portayed) man with long hair and wearing a flowing white or pink robe (all of which may well be far closer to what Satan looks like from what the scriptures tell us), Christ could have looked nothing like that. His appearance would definitely have been skin of color (arid regions produce persons of color), muscular, physically fit young man dressed in durable and practical clothing - which made Him indistinguishable from the "blue-collar" Fishermen who were with Him when He was arrested. The prophet Isaiah confirms His ordinary appearance in the Book of Isaiah 53:2-5 "He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. But He was pierced (See the URSCENE black history fact Killing of a King or was it the Sacrifice of a Lamb), for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed."

· This one may put me out of sync with my Rastafarian brethren, but Jesus Christ did not have long hair. I am sure you are asking how do I know.

Hairstyles and socially acceptable length have varied tremendously over the ages, sometimes very short, sometimes very long. In some cases GOD himself ordered that certain persons did not cut their hair.  In the time of our Savior shorter hair was deemed more acceptable.  Most religious artistry portray Christ with long hair. The man in the Shroud of Turin also has long hair. But did Jesus have long hair? Now after seeing this in the scriptures I do not believe so.

The apostle Paul actually saw Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus (1 Corinthians 9:1) and described him in the scriptures. Keep in mind that Paul, a trustworthy man who wrote a large part of the New Testament, knew exactly what The Lord and Savior looked like. In 1 Corinthians 11:14, Paul wrote, "if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him." It's quite unthinkable that Paul would have made such a statement if Jesus Christ had long hair. How could anything about The Lord and Savior be called disgraceful, especially to one of his greatest followers, and the Bibles greatest Apostles?

I am sure that some of you are probably really mad at me now for taking away those lessons you learned that were not true.  Often times we spend too much time focusing on what is not important.  Yes I made mention of Jesus ethnicity, but it really is not important what race he was.  What is important is that you accept and acknowledge the fact that he he was born of the immaculate conception and he died to wash away our mortal sins.  I am merely trying to give you the words as they are written, and show you how to learn. I have been a teacher for many years, and a student all my life.   It was once said to me that if you give a person dirty water all their lives and one day someone comes along and gives them clean, clear water to drink, 75% of them would reject it because they didn’t know otherwise. What are they teaching you?
I hope everyone’s Easter was prosperous and that everyone gave praise and thanks to JAH, GOD, or what ever name you have given to the almighty creator of earth and man. Since this is a season of spirituality. It is only fitting that this month’s commentary be a spirit felt one. Before I get started I ask that the Lord JAH add a blessing to my words and that the meditations of my heart be acceptable in his sight over me. As a wise and wonderful Rastafarian woman (the belated Rita) once taught me, you should ask that the Lord add a blessing to his words before you deliver them, not afterwards as most ministers and churches do. This is the equivalent of going outside and then seeing your mom while you are out there and asking can you go outside.

Did you know Adam was not the first man, many members of the Clergy preach and teach the wrong information, while others do not deliver it properly nor clearly.  For far too long many members of the clergy take and teach the Bible too literally. We know that many expressions in the Bible were of the Figurative sense. For example, did you know that the period of time from Genesis 1:1 – Genesis 2:7 was hundreds of thousands if not millions of years, instead of the seven days that we are constantly taught? GOD’s time is not our time. One day for him could be one million years for us.  Keep in mind that we mark one day or 24 hours by the time it takes for the earth to make a full rotation and allow us to face the sun again. Day one of creation starts in Genesis 1:3. The sun and moon were not created until the fourth day, Genesis 1:14 "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years, and this ended the forth day". Did you really think it was only 168 hours (7x24) in the 7 days of creation? It is time they stop playing church and start being Church. Too often these persons teach only what they are comfortable with, or they regurgitate the incorrect information that was delivered to them.  It is time you learned the truth for yourself, don't let someone else be responsible for your salvation.

Have you ever wondered why there is no mention of dinosaurs in the Bible?  We certainly know they existed. There is no refuting their existence. Both fossil findings and carbon dating prove that they existed. Though I dispute the accuracy in exact time of carbon dating, I do believe it has proven that these creatures roamed and even ruled the earth. Yet there is not one mention of the dinosaur in any book or page of the Bible. The reason is that man was not around to record their existence. Carbon dating tells us that man did not walk the planet during the period of the dinosaur. Therefore no one was around to record them. Then GOD in his infinite wisdom decided that the time of the dinosaur was to end. He then created the first man. Long before Adam, man walked the earth. How do I know? Well Read the Book of Genesis 1:27 and then read Genesis 2:8. The fact that these two verses are so far apart let you know that a great deal of time had past. You can see that from all of the things that happened between these verses. Genesis 1:27 speaks of GOD creating man on the fifth day "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them". The man created on the fifth day clearly was not Adam. GOD just with the wave of a hand created this man. There is not much mention of this outside of that because this creation of man had poor to no communication skills. This first created man was what we today have named cave man. Science and carbon dating tell us that the first man was created in Africa, somewhere in or near Ethiopia.  This was not Adam, rather the creation of man that became fruitful and multiplied over the earth as was GOD’s will and order in Genesis 1:28.  If your read 2:8-2:25 there is no mention of GOD telling Adam to be fruitful and multiply.  Why is this taught in Churches around the world?  This original man, created outside of the garden was the same creation of man that populated what eventually became Northern Europe and later returns to enslave we the descendants of Adam, out of jealousy for us being GOD's favored.  This is the same man that continues to enslave our minds and our pockets today.  How they did it? Well that is the subject of a whole new lesson and commentary that I will discuss at a later date. Check back for that one.  To continue; Adam does not come on the scene until Genesis 2:7, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul". This time GOD personally molded man in his image. This was clearly well after the seventh day when the Lord GOD rested from his creation.  Incase you are wondering Genesis 2:2 – 2:3 covers the beginning and ending of the seventh day.  Adam, as proven by Genesis 2:7, came long after the creation of the first man.  How do I know that much time had past?  Well Genesis 2:4 tells me that there were generations that had past up until then, "These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens". A generation is time measure by the off spring of an original. Therefore, every time a parent has a set of children, the children grouped together of that parent are a generation. The Bible uses the plural sense of the word generations. This mean that the original had offspring that had offspring that had offspring…..etc.  Remember these generations had no communication skills, hence Cro-Magnon man, Neanderthal man etc.  You need more proof?  Read Genesis 4:17, when Cain was banished for slaying his brother the bible says he found a wife, "And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch".  Where do you think his wife came from?  The first creation is where she came from.  There is no mention in the bible of Adam and Eve having a Daughter at this point and if they did then Cain would have been committing yet another sin, the sin of Incest.  He did not.  Surely the Bible would have made mention of this as it did when Noah lay with his daughter.  Most assuredly it would have made mention of Adam and Eve having a daughter.  At that point the only other offspring that is mentioned is the son Seth who did not come about until well after Cain was banished.  

Yes I know that Easter is about the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ.  It is not about the Paganistic Practice's of Easter bunny's, eggs, or candy either, but I bet some of you bought into it.  Much like Santa at Christmas you bought into it. I will talk about that one in December.  My reason for this writing is Perfectly clear!  If we are not clear on the very beginning then we can never know where we will end.  Too often we are allowing ourselves to be mislead.  If we are being mislead here on earth we will never make it to the prize in the Kingdom of he that sits on Mount Zion. If your minister can't tell you these things without you having to point this out then perhaps you need to reevaluate what you are learning and who you are learning it from.  Even the things we are taught on a smaller scale are misleading to us.  The saying goes "practice makes perfect". This is inaccurate, as pointed out by a very wise Rastafarian woman (the late Rita), she once taught me that "only perfect practice can make perfect, if you practice wrong, the only thing you will perfect is the art of being wrong".  If you thought Rastafarianism was only about smoking weed, as you can see from my words you are "perfectly wrong".  Rastanthology is study of the truth.  

Yes, I do make mention of Science along with the bible here.  For too long scientist have been afraid to connect with the bible and biblical scholars and Christians have been afraid to connect with science.  If you do the math and connect the dots.  They compliment not contradict each other.  God created his word so that we would know his law, GOD created science to give us knowledge.  If GOD created them both then why are afraid of one and not the other?
