       Who is the unsigned “ HYPE”? 

Hike Brown a.k.a. D.J. Hype is one of B-more’s hottest upcoming D.J.s . He began mixing at the age of 11.  Hype was influenced by his Uncle Edward Gary, in which he gave Hype his first turntable.  During his adolescent years, Hype started to mix as a hobby. He got his first break at a Homecoming Party at Northern High School. From there Hype began to D.J. at many places around Baltimore such as Tower’s Lounge, Latin Palace, and Hammerjack’s giving the crowd what they want to hear. But before giving the crowd what they want to hear he motivates himself by getting a couple of drinks and feeling the energy of the music. “ I play Baltimore club music, I feel it is the hottest music in the world. I also play reggae, hip-hop, and throw a little old school in there”. Hype is now trying to collaborate with Wyclef, 80 Dimes, Tim Trees, Nas and maybe sample some of Bob Marley’s  music for his first album.

His next performance will be Friday, April 19 at “ DREAM” located in D.C.
